How it Works
CoolSculpting uses a process known as cryolipolysis (it’s not scary, trust us). Basically, it works by freezing fat cells under your skin in troublesome areas that won't respond to diet or exercise. First, a gel pad is applied to your treatment area. Then, a special applicator is used that remains at a safe, controlled temperature. You’ll feel a slight vacuum sensation and cold on the treated area. In 30 min – an hour you’ll be done! And don’t fret: fat cells break down at temperatures that aren't cold enough to damage the skin or surrounding tissue, with minimal side effects and excellent results.
What to Expect
Before your treatment, you’ll speak with one of our experts about your areas of concern and what you wish to achieve. We’ll help you set realistic goals and map out a plan for you to achieve them. Typically, you’ll want to have more than one treatment depending on your desired results and the area you’re targeting.
Pre-treatment tips:
- Stay hydrated and bring a water bottle with you.
- Avoid the sun a few weeks before your treatment.
- Bring something with you to stay entertained – we love a good book.
Bring a book, babe. It’s time to chill out. CoolSculpting® treatments typically last between 30 and 75 minutes depending on the area.
After your first 10 minutes of treatment, you will likely experience numbness in the treatment area. No need to worry, it’s just how we freeze those fat cells!
Make sure to bring some entertainment for yourself while you sit and get sculpted! Our faves include a book, magazine or crossword puzzle. And there’s always the classic TikTok binge.
Although you won’t see results immediately, you can feel good knowing that each CoolSculpting® treatment can reduce fat in a specific area by 20% on average!1 You can see results from CoolSculpting® in as little as a few weeks, but it typically takes -3 months to fully see your results.
Post treatment, there won’t be any downtime, but here are some of our favorite things to do to help the process:
- Wear comfy clothing: You may experience some aches and bruising post treatment, so make sure you wear comfortable clothing.
- Avoid alcohol: Drinking alcohol may delay the recovery process. We suggest you ditch the booze for a few days post-treatment.
- Keep movin’: Moving your body post-treatment may help you avoid aches and pains that are common side effects of the procedure.
